The factors that influence the frequency of grease replacement are very complex and generally include temperature, service continuity, amount of grease injected, bearing size and speed, sealing effectiveness, and suitability of the grease for particular applications.Therefore, deciding when and how often to replace the grease is not a simple matter.

Under normal circumstances, continuous operation of light to medium load motor, requiring at least once a year to replace the grease;For every 10°C above the nominal recommended temperature, the interval between grease replacements needs to be reduced by half.

Determining the amount of grease injected into the motor bearing is one of the important steps in initial lubrication and grease replacement of the bearing.Insufficient amount of grease will lead to insufficient lubrication and lead to bearing failure, while too much will lead to bearing failure and problems caused by grease being brought into the electromagnetic winding.The following two methods can be used to determine the amount of grease injected into the bearing:

· 1/2 to 2/3 of the remaining space in the bearing — when the operating speed is less than 50% of the bearing’s ultimate speed;

1/3 to 1/2 of the remaining space in the bearing – when the operating speed is greater than 50% of the bearing’s ultimate speed.

· Another method of determining the appropriate amount of grease injected into the bearing is to use the following formula:
